The CTN is under national biopharma mission (NBM) which is an Industry-Academia Collaborative Mission of Department of Biotechnology (DBT) for Accelerating Early Development for Biopharmaceuticals; “innovate in India(i3) empowering biotech entrepreneurs & accelerating inclusive innovations “ to be implemented by Biotechnology Research Assistance Council (BIRAC)-a Public Sector Undertaking of DBT.
The NBM is a Pan-India Programme with the main aim of making India a hub for design and development of novel, affordable and effective biopharmaceutical products and solutions. This Program would aid in enhancing India’s innovation research and product development capabilities, especially by focusing on development of vaccines, biologics and medical devices for combating public health concerns.
CTN Ophthalmology has received grant of INR 10 Crores , having its lead office at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, Kerala, one of the recognized centres of excellence by GOI.
This network will speed up the innovation of Biosimilars and NCE development. Our Pan India CTN is right mix of Patient volume, Innovation, Marketing strength, Basic science and animal studies and Imago logy.
The CTN group will make the trial data more authentic and unbiased since the data will be pooled from multiple sites and will develop the best infrastructures and train human resource for clinical trials. The sites will be ready for Clinical trial conduct. The CTN will promote personalized treatment in ophthalmology and thus enhance the patient compliance of the drugs/biological approved.
